All property types are in high demand. Currently there are 3,500 properties for sale in Leeds, 30% below the national average. This is great news for buy-to-let landlords as many people will rent properties in Leeds while looking for the perfect property to buy. However, despite this high demand, when the right property in Leeds comes along, it is usually at an affordable price. Many houses in Leeds start from under £100,000. Even a traditional three bedroom semi in popular areas like Alwoodley, Moortown or Roundhay can usually be found for under £250,000.
The city centre hasn’t had many new builds in recent years – there was a time when 400 new apartments were constructed each year. However, those who would buy these properties (young professionals) tend to stay in the fashionable Chapel Allerton – a place with a vibrant and exciting art scene, along with pubs, clubs and late-night destinations to keep them entertained.
